Here are a few solutions that can help you resolve the error. Please make sure you follow the instructions in the order given below:
Solution 1:
When the paper gets stuck amidst any print job, don’t panic and haste into any action. Follow these steps to resolve the matter:
- First of all press the cancel button on your printer to stop any print job.
- Now gently remove the jammed paper from the input tray. You need to do this step carefully to avoid any tearing of the paper. To do so, gently pull the sheet applying similar pressure from both the hands on either corners of the sheet.
- If you find any torn pieces of paper, then carefully remove them too.
- Now reload the input tray with clean new paper. Make sure they lay flat on the tray.
Note: While removing any stuck paper, please ensure you don’t accidentally remove the try shield. This shield is an important part of your printer that protects it from foreign elements like dust and any other form of obstructions to affect your printer’s performance.
Solution 2:
You can remove the jammed paper from the output tray in the following ways:
- Press the cancel button on your printer to stop. This step should ideally resolve the error. If it doesn’t then follow the next steps.
- Carefully and gently remove the jammed paper from the output tray.
- Gently pull the sheet applying similar pressure from both the hands on both the corners of the sheet.
- Manually remove any torn bits of paper from the output tray.
- Reload the output tray with clean new paper and resume printing.
Solution 3:
Try clearing the jammed paper in the cartridge area of your printer in the following ways:
- Press the ‘Cancel’ button to stop any print job.
- Press the power button of the printer to switch it off.
- Hold the power button for a while to release any remaining charge in the printer.
- Disconnect any USB cables that are connected to your printer.
- You will find a power cord at the back of your printer. Unplug that cord.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet too.
Note: Please make sure you disconnect the power supply to your printer before you access the inner parts of your printer to avoid any electric shocks.
- Close the output tray extender and push it into the printer.
- Open the ink cartridge access door.
- You will see the print carriage is on the right hand side of the printer. If it is not then you can gently push it towards the right.
- Inspect the carriage area and remove any bits of paper, any foreign materials like dust, ink blots, dried ink substances etc.
- Close the ink cartridge access door.
- Pull out the output tray and connect the printer to the power cord and USB cables.
