- Open the Diagnostic menu.
- Run the laser/scanner motor component test. Are you able to hear the rotation of the motor?
- If you are not able to hear the rotation of the motor, please inspect the DC controller PCA.
- Make sure that the controllers are fully seated in the DC controller PCA.
- If your printer still shows the error, you may need to replace the laser/scanner assembly.
Solution 2:
Don’t worry if you don’t know how to remove the laser scanner unit. Please follow these steps to do so:
- Release the DIMM cover by gently sliding it towards the back of your printer.
- Carefully lift and remove the cover away.
- Now you need to unscrew one screw to release the formatter cover by gently sliding it towards the back of your printer.
- Carefully lift and remove the cover away.
- Now slowly open the rear door of the assembly.
- Release the link arm in the upwards direction.
Caution: Be careful when you handle the link arm as it is installed there under tension from a spring. It may snap back towards the printer when you are trying to release it.
- Now you can unscrew the two screws.
- Release the tab by opening the lower rear door.
- Carefully rotate the rear door assembly. Make sure you rotate it in the direction away from your printer.
- By pulling the rear- door assembly you can remove it now.
- On the left cover, unscrew one of the screws to release the tabs.
Suggestion: Slightly lift up the left side of the printer to locate the tabs that are located under the plastic cavity.
- Carefully rotate the rear of the cover.
- Make sure you rotate it in the direction away from your printer.
- Remove the cover by sliding it towards the front of your printer.
- Now comes the step of removing the top right cover. Firstly remove three screws and lift the cover of the product to completely remove it.
- Open the cartridge door by pressing the cartridge door release button.
- Carefully disconnect the connector and remove one screw.
- Release the control panel by sliding it towards the front.
- Carefully and slightly raise the rear of the top cover and slide it towards the front to remove it.
Remove the Laser Scanner in this way:
- Gently lift the air duct by releasing one tab that is situated on it.
- Now remove the antistatic sponge and disconnect one connector and one FFC.
- By unscrewing the four screws here, you can completely remove the laser/scanner out of the printer.
