- Select Start
- Browse to Run
- Type REGEDIT
- Press Enter
- Highlight My Computer in the Registry Editor window
- Click File and choose Export
- Under Export range, choose All
- Type a filename for this backup registry
- Click Save
Step 2: Clean up driver information from the Registry
- Select Start
- Browse to Run
- Type REGEDIT
- Press Enter
- Click on the PLUS (+) sign and go to the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Printers
- Click the PLUS (+) again to expand the Printers key. You will get a list of l printers installed on your computer.
- Right-click on the required sub key on the left pane
- Click Delete
- Browse HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Environments\Windows NT x86\Drivers\Version-3
- Click the PLUS (+) to expand Version 3. You will get a list of l printers installed on your computer.
- Right-click on the required sub key on the left pane
- Click Delete. Make sure you choose the entry and save it as a backup first.
- Close Registry Editor
- Restart your system
