41.7 Error Code HP Printer

HP colour laser printers are susceptible to error 41.7. If the printer suddenly stops working or pauses and gives error 41.7 it means it is a temporarily printing error has occurred. As a result of this error the printer prints only one or two pages almost empty and few faded lines on the document.

The following troubleshoot methods can be used to solve the issue:

Method 1: Restart the computer system and the printer:

  • Turn off the power button of the printer as well as the computer system
  • Remember to save the work on the computer.
  • Disconnect the power cord from the power socket of the printer
  • Remove the USB port if connected to the computer
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds before resuming the power to switch on the printer and the computer.
  • Plug in the power socket of the printer in the switch board. Press the power button of the computer to switch it
  • Press the power ‘on’ button of the printer to resume power
  • Try to print a test document. If the HP Printer Error continues to persist try the other troubleshooting methods.

Method 2: Uninstall the HP printer software and reinstall it

  • On your windows operating system search for ‘Devices and Printers’.
  • Click on the ‘Devices and Printers’ option and click on the HP printer icon
  • Choose the option delete or remove device in the printer option page
  • Open the run command with “Windows key and R” key combo
  • You can then reinstall the printer software from the HP link
  • Select the appropriate model of your HP printer, follow the on-screen instructions
  • Print a test document and check if the issue has resolved or not. If the issue has been resolved then it’s good. But if the error persists you need to continue troubleshooting.

Alternatively the following steps can also be helpful to uninstall the printer:

  • Remove the USB cable of your printer from the computer device
  • Search the ‘Devices and Printers’ tab on your windows
  • Right click on the Printer icon and then click on the ‘Remove Device tab’
  • The computer will now remove the printer software from your computer.
  • Restart the computer system.
  • Go to HP support-Software and drivers to download the printer software. There will be a list of HP models listed on the screen. Select the printer model that matches yours.
  • Install the software by following the on-screen instructions
  • After successful installation, try to print a test page. If the issue has been resolved then its good else if the error persists then the troubleshooting methods needs to be continued

Method 3: Change the default printer settings from the control panel

  • On your windows select the start button then click on the settings option
  • In the settings option hit on the printer option tab
  • Right click on the your printers driver icon
  • Select the properties from the drop -down menu that appears on screen
  • Select the general tab option
  • Click on the print processor
  • Set the default data typesetting to RAW and then press ok
  • Press OK to return to your desktop screen
  • Try to print a test page to see if the issue has been resolved. If the printer works, then the error is resolved if not you need to continue troubleshooting.
