49.FF04 Error Code HP Printer

Troubleshooting Steps HP Printer Error 49.FF04

Step 1- Update or upgrade the firmware

1. Make sure the printer is ‘on’
2. Go to printers icon on your control panel settings
3. Select the setup service and click on ‘preferences’
4. Follow the instructions on screen to enable the web services and set up automatic updates
5. Then the printer should automatically start up
6. Test a document for printing. If it fails and error persists further troubleshooting is required

Download the latest firmware for updates

1. Make sure that the printer is ‘on’ and connected to the computer through the USB cable
2. Go to the HP customer support- Software and Driver Downloads
3. Identify the printer model you are using from the list and click on submit
4. Click firmware and then click on ‘download’
5. Save the file to your computer system
6. Search and open the file you downloaded and start the installation procedure
7. Follow the steps displayed on screen
8. When the update is completed successfully click on ‘OK’
9. Restart the computer and the printer
10. Print a test document to check if the error is resolved. If the error persists then further troubleshooting is needed to resolve the issue.

Step 2- Reinstall latest version of print driver on your computer

1. Remove the USB cable of the printer from your computer device and unplug the power socket
2. Search for the ‘Devices and Printers’ tab on your windows
3. Right click on the Printer icon and then click on the Remove Device tab
4. The computer removes the printer software from your computer.
5. Go to HP support-Software and drivers to download the printer software. There will be a list of HP models listed on the screen. Select and click on the model that matches your printer’s model.
6. Install the print driver software by following the on screen instructions.
7. After the successful installation process, try to print a test page to see if the issue has been resolved or not. If the issue remains unsolved other methods of troubleshooting needs to be done

Step 3- Uninstall the HP printer and reinstall it again

1. In your windows operating system search for control panel settings. Then click on ‘Devices and Printers’
2. Click on the ‘devices and printers’ option and then click on the HP printer icon
3. Choose the option ‘Delete or Remove device’ in the settings page.
4. Open the run command with “Windows key and R” key combo
5. Type print.exe/s and click OK
6. Click on the Drivers tab
7. Look for the HP printers driver that you are using
8. Click on your printers icon driver and select ok
9. Close the devices and printers page
10. You can then reinstall the printer software from the HP link – 123.hp.com
11. Choose the model of your HP printer from the list and follow the instructions on the screen
