HP Envy 4500 says the print carriage is not moving

Time needed: 10 minutes

1. Fix
   

   🔹 First turn OFF the printer and let it cool for some time.
   🔹 Now, turn ON the printer and wait until it gets ready to print.
   🔹 Check the paper alignment and reset the paper in the input tray> then check if the paper feeds properly or not.
   🔹 Then try a test print and check whether the issue resolved or not if it still persists then move to the next solution

2. Fix

   🔹 First you need to restart the printer before proceeding.
   🔹 Now carefully slide the input tray and remove all the loose and curled paper if any.
   🔹 If you find that there is paper jammed in the printer then you should remove it carefully.
   🔹 Now check if there is any form paper left or any unwanted objects. If yes, then remove it carefully.
   🔹 Then slide the input tray back into its slot.
   🔹 Now remove all the attached cable from it.
   🔹 Then open the printer’s lid carefully and remove the foreign object or from paper, if any.
   🔹 Ensure that you check it thoroughly for any hidden piece of paper or scraps by using a flashlight.
   🔹 Now you need to locate and pull out the clean out door handle and check thoroughly for any turn paper and object
   🔹 Lift the duplexer, in order to check if there is anything stuck in between
   🔹 Now turn the printer on its side and check for any unwanted objects or turn pages.
   🔹 Once done, now again plug-in all the cable to the printer and turn it “ON”.
   🔹 Now wait for a while until it gets ready to print.
   🔹 Then You need to print and check whether the issue is resolved or not. In case you encounter the same issue, then you can go to the next steps.

3. Fix
   

   🔹 First, you need to turn off the printer and remove the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the power source.
   🔹 After that you need to open the lid of the printer cartridge and check the cartridge
   🔹 You should move the carriage to the right manually. IF case, you found that it does not move, then check if there is anything that distracts its movement
   🔹 You need to remove the paper jam or a foreign object carefully
   Once done, now move the cartridge manually towards in left and remove the unwanted objects.
   🔹 Move it manually from left to right and right to left until you don’t find any problem in moving the cartridge
   🔹 Once done, you need to close the lid carefully and reconnect all the cables and cords.
   🔹 Turn Printer and wait until it will get ready to print.
   🔹 Then run a test print and check for the issue. If it still persists, then you should follow the next step.
    
   

4. Fix
   

   🔹 You should turn ON the printer first, and then open its list
   Now you need to wait for the cartridge carriage to move at the “center” of the printer.
   🔹 After that remove HP Photosmart 5520 ink cartridges and carefully place them on paper to prevent any leaks.
   🔹 Now you need to clean the nozzles because there might be strong chances of clogging.
   🔹 Also check the level of the ink in the cartridge and replace the cartridge in case of low ink level
   🔹 After that, you should re-install the cartridge carefully and into the respective components
   🔹 Once done, you need to wait for about 60 seconds and restart the printer
   🔹 After that wait until it will get ready and does not produce any noise.
   🔹 Now run a test print. If the error persists, contact the HP technical support executive.
