  1. Switch off your printer. Now you need to wait for about 30 seconds and then again restart your printer.
  2. Print a test page. If the carriage jam error persists, then proceed to the next step.
  3. Open the rear access door of the printer and remove any jammed paper including any torn pieces of paper from the roller. 
  4. If it does not fix the error, press the power button again to turn the printer off. Disconnect the power and USB or Ethernet cables.
  5. Lift the front access door and remove any paper from the cartridge path.
  6. Move the cartridge back and forth and from left to right.
  7. Reconnect the power cord and press the power button to turn the printer on. Print a test page. 
  8. Now you need to use the power button for restarting your printer. Remove the plug and wait for 30 seconds.
  9. Then, plug the power cord back into the electrical outlet and to the back of the printer.
  10. Now you need to restart your printer again. Print a test page and check if the issue has been resolved or not.

Do a keen Visual Inspection:

If problem is still there then follow the below steps-

  1. Turn the printer off to perform a visual inspection for any jammed paper.
  2. Remove the rear access door by lifting the left and right tabs.
  3. Carefully remove any jammed paper or pieces of torn paper if any from the rollers and replace the rear access door.
  4. And push out the paper tray check the paper is properly inserted and put it again
  5. Now start again the HP printer and test a print hopefully this carriage jam error in HP printer will be resolved.

  4. Move cartridge back -Reconnect the power cord.  Switch on the printer if the printer is not getting on then click automatically. Print a self -test report.
