Steps to fix the issue 

Fix the issue spooler

  • First click “Start” > go to “Run”.
  • Then you need to type/ input “services.msc” in the pop-up tab.
  • Use scroll down for the “Print Spooler” option.
  • Then press right-click this entry >choose “stop”.
  • Now again press “Start”> “My Computer” option to open a Windows Explorer window
  • The queue service is now stopped. Now we need to clear the jam if any. For this we navigate to the print spool folder under the Windows folders.
  • The usual path to the spool folder is similar to C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\PRINTERS.  So click on your Windows C drive> then press twice on the Windows folder> then find the System32 folder and click twice on it. Then you need to click the “View files anyway” message and search for the “spool folder”. You will get the Printers folder within the Spool folder.
  • Now you need to delete each file in the “printer folder” to empty the jammed print queue.
  • Once done, you need to close the explorer window. Now restart the Print spooler service again.
  • Press right-click on the Print Spool entry> now choose the “Start” option from the “list” tab. Once done with the above mentioned steps, you need to restart the printer and try to print again.

Use genuine HP cartridges

  • Ensure that you are using the HP genuine ink or toner cartridges. If you are using the non-genuine cartridges then you may face reliability and print issues.
  • To check the authenticity of the cartridges then go to the HP anti-counterfeit. You can also visit the HP Store or local retailers to replace cartridges.

Check the estimated ink levels

  1. First open the printer software. 
  2. Then press the Estimated Ink Levels option. Then a graphic that displays with the estimated ink levels of the printer.
  • In case no cartridges have low ink levels then there is no need to replace or change them. 
  • If any of the ink cartridges are low on ink then follow the given below steps to replace them.
  1. Once done, now you need to start the printer to proceed.
  2. Then open the cartridge door> now wait for the carriage to move to the center of the printer. Once the carriage is idle and silent then you can proceed further.
  3. Now press down lightly on the low or empty cartridge and then pull it carefully out of the slot.
  4. Remove the new cartridge from its package.
  5. You need to use the “pull tab” for removing/pulling out the coating of plastic tape from the new cartridge.
  6. Now you should carefully slide the new cartridge into its respective slot until it fit perfectly into its place.
