In this article, we will discuss ‘hp printer error 59.’

Causes:

It is important to understand the reasons that make your printer show this error. By recognizing it you can understand the troubleshooting methods in a better way and you will be able to handle the issue more smartly for the future use. So let us see the reasons here:

  • Sometimes the transfer belt in your computer gets stuck and becomes unable to move.
  • Another reason can be a disengagement of the transfer-roller in your printer.
  • Sometimes a damaged or worn out fuser driver gear can cause this error.

Let us fix this error:

Fixing this error is pretty straightforward. Make sure you follow the given steps in the order as mentioned below:

Solution 1:

The first step is to align the intermediate transfer belt and to power cycle the printer.

Solution 2:

If the above method doesn’t solve the issue even if the intermediate transfer belt is working fine, then you need to inspect the sensor manually. Please follow these steps:

  • Switch off your printer.
  • Long press the power button of the printer to get rid of any residual power.
  • Open your printer and remove the fuser of your printer. Place the fuser in a clean area.
  • Carefully remove the cyan cartridge and the black cartridge out of your printer. Place the inks upright on clean paper where they can’t accidentally spill the ink.
  • Now switch on your printer.
  • In the control panel of your printer, go to troubleshooting menu. In some printers, it is also called diagnostic menu.
  • From the drop, list selects ‘manual sensor test’ and click on ‘ok’ tab.
  • Now, look at the state of a sensor which is displayed on your printer. It should ideally show 0.
  • Now you need to reach the SR17 through the right side of your printer. You can find it attached to the frame of your printer. It is located in the vicinity of the black ink cartridge where it comes in contact with the back of the frame of your printer.
  • You now need to insert a piece of paper into SR17 sensor bracket.
  • When you will place the piece of paper you will see that the control panel of your printer will display the state of the sensor as 1 instead of 0.
  • This change in the sensor value on the control panel shows there is nothing wrong with the sensor of your printer.
  • In case the value doesn’t change, then the sensor needs to be replaced.

Solution 3:

If the error still persists then follow these steps:

  • Open the right door of the printer.
  • Switch off the interlock switch.
  • Remove the intermediate transfer belt.
  • In the control panel of your printer, go to troubleshooting menu. In some printers, it is also called diagnostic menu.
  • From the drop-down menu select ‘component test.’
  • Now select the ‘ITB contact/ alienation’ and then press on ‘ok’ to initiate the test.
  • While the test goes on inspect the drive hub which is just above the cyan cartridge area.
  • If the drive hub doesn’t move, then the issue is with the fuser driver. You then need to replace the fuser drive assembly.
