Whenever the print quality is faded or the dots on the PC are not printed on paper then it means that the nozzles of the printer are blocked not allowing the proper flow of ink. Cleaning the Print Head could resolve the problem. In this article, we will discuss how to clean the Epson Print Head.
The Epson Print Head can be cleaned in two ways – Either by using the head clean utility in the software or using the Control Panel buttons on the Printer itself.
- Cleaning the Print Head using the Head Cleaning Utility
- For Windows users
- Turn the printer on and make sure that the ink out light is off.
- Open the Printer software.
iii. Select Utility tab and then select Head cleaning.
- Now follow the on-screen instructions.
- When the power button stops flashing select Print Nozzle Check pattern to confirm that the cleaning has been done properly and the cleaning cycle can be reset.
- If the print quality hasn’t improved repeat the steps 3-4 times and then leave the printer overnight. If the problem persists even in the morning then change the ink cartridge.
- For Mac users
- Turn the printer on and make sure that the ink out light is off.
- Open page setup.
iii. Click utility icon and then click on Head Cleaning button
- Follow all the on-screen instructions.
- When the power button stops flashing click the confirmation button and uses the check pattern.
- Using the control panel buttons
- Turn on the printer and make sure that the ink light is turned off.
- Now hold the Ink button for at least 3 seconds
iii. When the power button stops blinking print a nozzle check pattern to see if the cleaning is done properly.
- If the problem persists then repeat the procedure 3-4 times and leave the printer overnight.
- If the problem doesn’t resolve even in the morning then you might have to replace the cartridge.
